No love for the PSP+Dragonball Evolution and the DSi

The selection of PSP games at my local Wal-Mart seems to be on the verge of extinction. Like the majestic dodo before it, the PSP is uttering its last defeated cry before disappearing entirely. I can understand the fact that it's not as popular as the DS, but a single row between the PS3 and PS2 games seems a bit underwhelming to me. Luckily, my new favorite system is still well-represented in Gamestops and online, but for the world's biggest retailer to be giving it quite that huge of a shaft is discouraging. Still, I can't help but find title after title to keep me busy with it, with the latest being Resistance:Retribution and a digital copy of Rayman 2 from the PSN store. Next up will probably be a Wipeout game and Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?.

What will not be up next will be the PSP adaption of Dragonball: Evolution. I'm a long-time, die-hard Dragonball fan. I still geek-out when I catch DBZ on late-night TV, and I've had more dreams about flying and shooting fireballs than I'll ever care to admit. But, seriously, Dragonball Evolution makes me vomit a bit. Will I probably still see it just because it is what it is? Yes, almost defintely. Will I find fault in every little detail and end up hating it to it's very core? Absolutely.

As a final thought, I bought my wife a DSi yesterday, and I've had the opportunity to play around with it a bit, and it's a fun next step for the system. It's not a revolution by any means, but the cameras, new operating system and expanded memory open up a variety of possibilities that I'll be interested to see evolve over the life of the device. Must-buy? Probably not, but for a DS fan with a bit of disposable income it's a solid purchase. I particularly liked the sound-recording and manipulation program built into the system. It's goofy and completely unneccessary, but then alot of times the best things in life are just that.

I'm shocked that DragonBall games aren't more popular. I mean the cartoon was very popular amongst teenagers so why aren't the video games more popular?

The Dragonball game is very disappointing. One problem is that the graphics are not updated in lieu to the present time. I hope they modify the whole game.
